CAR BOOT SALE CANCELLATION

Unfortunately, the decision has been made to close down the running of the Car Boot Sales with immediate effect.

There are many factors involved in this decision including a lot of valuable feedback, available resources and future plans for the Centre.

We would like to thank everyone who supported us and helped it grow and develop (Sellers, Buyers and Volunteers).  We’ve had a lot of fun getting to know all of you over the last few months and hope that you will continue to support the centre as it moves forward with its development and future events in the pipeline.

Tea & Tunes Review

The Tea & Tunes event last weekend (26th August 2017) was the first of it’s type and if the feedback is anything to go by, it won’t be the last with comments like:

This was a lovely trip down memory lane!

Will this be a regular event?

A selection of 40’s, 50’s and 60’s Music was provided free of charge by The Live 45’s and was very well received.  There was a lot of singing along and there was even dancing in the aisles!

A wonderful selection of cakes and biscuits were provided free of charge by our local Co-op on Cranleigh Road as part of their community fund.

Thank you Cranleigh Road Coop for the delicious donations for Tea and Tunes at the Beaufort Centre.

A massive thank you to all those that donated time, food, music and manpower to make it happen and to all those who attended, making it such an enjoyable afternoon.

A total of £50 in donations was raised which will continue to help
the centre moving forward.

Fundraising event help needed

We are looking for people to help at two of our fundraising car boot sales events each per year. Nothing more.

The Car Boot Sales are held on the third Sunday of every month and all the staff at the events are volunteers. This means every penny generated goes back to the Centre, aside from advertising costs such as printing flyers. We are currently raising funds to make improvements to the Centre, reinstate the kitchen facilities and run events to meet the needs of the local community.

At each car boot sale, we have received fantastic positive feedback from the local community and it’s clear people want it to keep going. But we can only continue to run them long term if we find a few lovely people willing to provide some practical support. We know Sunday mornings aren’t everyone’s cup of tea so we are only asking for two days a year of your time from each volunteer.

Please drop us a line using the form below if you can help. We would love to hear from you.

Choose your Coop cause by 7th April

Our amazing local Cooperative branch on Cranleigh Road chose the Beaufort Community Centre as one of its local causes at the start of the year. Even better, they tell us local people have already raised over £1000 just by swiping their card when they shop there. We cannot tell you how much we appreciate that and we promise it will be put to good use improving the facilities.

Sadly, we may miss out on more than £3000 because some Coop card holders haven’t picked their local cause and the deadline is only three weeks away. If you have a Coop card, it is very easy to pick your cause.

  1. Log on to the Cooperative website. https://membership.coop.co.uk/sign-in
  2. On your dashboard click on the Choose local cause link in the 1% for local causes box.
  3. Choose Beaufort Community Centre.

And that’s it. But you need to do this by the 7th April or the money you’ve raised by swiping your card could go to waste.
