Tea and tunes

Would you like to join us on Saturday 26th for the first of our Tea and Tunes afternoon music events? You could enjoy an hour of live music from the 40s, 50s and 60s supplied by The Live 45s with tea and biscuit refreshments in the interval provided by the Beaufort Community Centre and Cranleigh Road Co-op.

It would be great if you could let us know you’ll be coming along, but feel free to turn up on the day if it takes your fancy. The more the merrier!

We’d love to see you there x

Fundraising event help needed

We are looking for people to help at two of our fundraising car boot sales events each per year. Nothing more.

The Car Boot Sales are held on the third Sunday of every month and all the staff at the events are volunteers. This means every penny generated goes back to the Centre, aside from advertising costs such as printing flyers. We are currently raising funds to make improvements to the Centre, reinstate the kitchen facilities and run events to meet the needs of the local community.

At each car boot sale, we have received fantastic positive feedback from the local community and it’s clear people want it to keep going. But we can only continue to run them long term if we find a few lovely people willing to provide some practical support. We know Sunday mornings aren’t everyone’s cup of tea so we are only asking for two days a year of your time from each volunteer.

Please drop us a line using the form below if you can help. We would love to hear from you.

Santander in the community

Thank you so much to Ian and the team who came and repainted three of our bookable rooms at the Beaufort Community Centre. The rooms had started to look very tired indeed so their efforts have made a huge difference to people using the spaces.

They brought everything they needed with them and I hope you’ll agree that the results look fantastic!Santander 1

Highlights from the Easter Trail

Fantastic fun at the Easter Trail

At least 50 children from the local community and their families came and joined in the fun at the Beaufort Community Centre’s Easter Trail.

The trail kicked off with the families exploring the Rookery park to track down 10 words to complete their trail sheet. There was plenty of time for fun on the swings and climbing equipment while they worked out the well-known biblical saying to complete the challenge.

Back at Beaufort Community Centre, volunteers handed out Easter Eggs to each successful word hunter. Interim Centre Manager, Lynn Chisadza, said “At one point we didn’t think we had enough easter eggs so someone donated more on the day.”

But that wasn’t the end of the fun. The children went into the hall to join in Easter crafts and watch a puppet show while the grown ups enjoyed complementary refreshments and a sit down.

Over 20 volunteers from Cranleigh Community Church and St Saviours organised, coordinated and ran the trail for which Beaufort Community Centre is very grateful. As Lynn said “These young children are not only our community’s future but the nation’s too. The Centre plans to actively engage the young people of Beaufort to help them stay safe, healthy, enjoy and achieve as well as become active participates of society.”
